Air Purifier and Health – Do You Know The Connection?
Every house is full of hidden dangers. While we are aware of pollution outside, fewer people really know how poor the air quality inside our home is. As we spend the majority of our time in our homes and offices, it’s essential to get rid of indoor pollutants.
An air purifier is designed to remove impurities from the air, making it safer and cleaner to inhale. Air purifiers come in different sizes to accommodate all types of rooms. When shopping for an air purifier, carefully consider the size of the room you plan to use it in. Here are some of the most effective uses of an air purifier.
- Removes Dust
Dust mites and dust gather inside your homes. That’s why it’s essential to vacuum and clean frequently. Even then, it’s not possible to remove all traces of dust mites or dust. The process of vacuuming stirs fine dust particles around. An air purifier removes the dust particles from the air you and your family inhale. The device comes with its own filter, so your lungs aren’t what’s filtering out the dust inside your house.
- Removes Allergens
Pollen is the main culprit that makes allergies trigger. Majority of the individuals who get allergies develop asthma because of the poor air quality they’re exposed to inside their homes. As per research, approximately 8.3 million children have respiratory allergies. Moreover, if both the parents have allergies, their kid has a 70% chance of developing allergies as well. Air purifiers are made to remove allergens from the atmosphere, making it convenient for you and your family to breathe clean air always.
- Removes Pet Dander
Just about every dog breed sheds. All that pet fur gets collected over time, and even if you clean it on a regular basis, you’ll still find pet hair throughout your home. Pet hair, pet dander, saliva, allergy producing protein through their sweat are some of the most common air pollutants found in households that have pets. These cause allergic reactions to exposed family members, bringing medical complications like shortening of breath, watery eyes, lethargy, digestive problems, asthma, coughing & sneezing, dizziness and much more. To give a healthy life to all, KENT air purifiers are one of the best air purifiers in India which remove air pollutants and deliver fresh air. Its multi-stage purification system captures pet hair and other physical contaminants while anti-bacterial coating de-activates all virus and bacteria from the atmosphere.
- Removes Odours
Air purifiers are specially designed to remove odours from home. It supplies cleaner and fresher air, which benefits all the members of the family including pets. An air purifier can be placed near the kitchen to get rid of food scents.
- Removes Smoke
Cigarette smoke comprises of two categories of PM 2.5 particles and air pollutants noticeable to naked eye called smoke and many invisible gases such as carbon monoxide & benzene. Cigarette smoke harms human lungs causing cancer, asthma, coughing, shortening of breath, irregular heartbeats, and many diseases. An air purifier for home purifies cigarette smoke by capturing invisible gases at carbon filter stage and visible smoke at HEPA filter stage to make you and your family breathe clean air.

We have forced hot air heat so our house is super dusty. A good air purifier is a MUST for us.
My husband wants something like this. Our house can get dusty and we have cats, so this would come in handy.
I know a few people that have air purifiers in their house that are very happy. My MOm could probaby benefit from one.
Old house, hardwood floors and pets are the main reasons we purchased an air purifier. It’s super quiet and really helps keep allergies at bay and decrease odors.
We have an air purifier and I need to start using it again. Especially now that I am allergic to so many things in the air!
Indoor air quality is so important. Many people don’t realize just how dangerous the air can become if not properly cleaned and purified. I am currently looking for an air purifier that I like.
I need this so much. Constantly coughing and sneezing. Think I have an allergy. Wish it wasn’t so expensive. I thought I read $9900 but it was rupees. It still a bit expensive. Hopefully one day I can get one like this. Thank you for letting me know about it 😀
We have been using air purifiers for years now! We have seasonal allergies, asthma and this helps us so much. I am allergic to dust and dust mites, so vacuuming is a must everyday!
My kids and I have allergies so we have always used an air purifier. It really does help us breathe easier.
I have 3 dogs and awful allergies and as much as I clean…it’s never enough. I need an air purifier for sure!
My mom has a couple of these and they do wonders for her allergies. I have been considering adding one to our home.
My son and I have all year round allergies! We find this things to miracle workers! We breath so much better when they are running!
I totally need one of these. I have severe (as in own an epi pen) allergies to everything outside. Grass, trees, flowers, pollen, etc. I live on allergy medicine. I would love to see if one would work.
We have been using an air purifier for the last few months and it has made a huge difference in our home. I wish we had started using one years ago.
I really need one of these. My middle son has some allergies and I think it would help.
If it wasn’t for air purifiers, my son would be wheezing everyday! He has seasonal allergies and he cannot tolerate dust. We have to make sure the air in our house is free from allergens and dust free. It is a huge task, but I would rather invest in an air purifier and man the vacuum everyday than to drive to the ER everyday.
I have problems with my nose and a dust allergy has been killing me for years. Do you think that this air purifier would help my health problems? or maybe I shall share this article to a doctor and get more opinions.
Wow, I should consider buying an Air Purifier after reading your blog post. I never thought that the air I had in my room and in my office is not that safe. This is something I should have been considered before. Anyway, its not yet too late. Thank you much for sharing such an informative blog post about Air Purifier.
I have an air purifier and I LOVE it because I have asthma. It’s actually one of the things that I miss the most when I travel.
Air purifiers are soo helpful and important to have if you ask me! They are awesome and work wonders – especially for those with asthma and/or allergies!
I have never thought about getting a air purifier but after reading your post, I think I might have seconds thoughts about it especially as I have mild Asthma. The only thing we purifier is water. Definitely something worth investing too.
Yes! I love air purifiers. My mother has been using them for years. She lives in Japan and it’s been a popular device to have in homes for over a decade now. It really does make a difference in the air quality. I definitely sleep better when there is one in the room 🙂
Where I live, houses get moldy fast. I know that adding in an air purifier (and a dehumidifier too!) could really benefit my family’s immediate and long-term health. Thanks for the reminder.
I never really think about pollution inside the house, but this sounds like it will get rid of everything nasty! I have a de-humidifier but will look into getting one of these too for the dog 🙂
This is something I think about often and need to get an Air Purifier for our basement, for sure. It can get pretty dusty and ick down there.
I’m thinking we could totally use a good humidifier. Especially during these really dry and windy winter months.
I had not thought of an air purifier before. This one also looks very decorative. Thanks for sharing.
