Colourful greetings from Sandy & Vyjay!
Just imagine waking up in the morning and looking out of your window and seeing everything in black and white hues! Grey skies, the sun rising in a brilliant white hue, black pastures instead of green ones, not a single colour other than the shades of black and white in sight. It is as if the laws of optical physics have been catastrophically altered. Colour is a blessing of nature. Nature had unveiled the magic of colours long before Man prided himself on evolving from black and white photography to colour photography. Indeed, nature is the supreme artist, and no artificial intelligence can hold a candle to it.

Nature is a masterpiece of colours, painting landscapes with breathtaking hues. The sky shifts from soft blues to fiery oranges at sunset. Lush green forests whisper with life while golden fields sway under the sun. Oceans shimmer in deep blue and turquoise shades, reflecting the vast sky above. Flowers bloom in a vibrant array—crimson roses, lavender fields, and sunny yellow daisies. Autumn sets trees ablaze with fiery reds, warm oranges, and rich browns. Snow blankets mountains in pristine white while deserts glow in earthy ochres. Every shade in nature tells a story, bringing beauty to the world.

We have been talking about colours because this is the month of March, the month of Holi. We hope that you had a joyful and safe Holi. And talking about colour, can there be a more colourful country than our own India? Join us as we make our way through some more colourful avenues of our beautiful country in this issue.

This has been recorded in the works of Sushruta and Charaka, considered as the fathers of the ancient Indian Medical science of Ayurveda. The Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda Museum near Thrissur in Kerala beautifully showcases the fascinating history and genesis of Ayurveda. It is a gold mine of information and a place you must visit in Kerala.

Ugadi – Beginning of a New EraUgadi

Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and other states celebrate Ugadi as the dawn of the New Year. In Maharashtra, it is known as Gudi Padva. Ugadi, quite literally means, beginning of a new era.” In Karnataka it is celebrated with great fervour and age-old traditions are honoured. An interesting ritual of Ugadi which we have witnessed and enjoyed since childhood, is the eating of a mixture of Neem leaves and Jaggery. This ritual has a philosophical significance. By treating your palate to a bitter and sweet taste at the beginning of the New Year, you are preparing for the bitter-sweet experiences that life will surely unfold over the course of the year.

Leopard Ahoy!Leopard

We were on a jungle safari at the Bandipur National Park, towards the end of last year. We were feeling a little disappointed as we had not had a tiger sighting, when we were thrilled to see a full-grown leopard, sauntering casually by the side of the track. It was one of those moments, that etch themselves in your mind. It was a double whammy, as within minutes we saw another leopard taking a siesta on the branch of a tree. Leopard sighting is thrilling, and it is always a watershed moment in your life when you sport the elusive Leopard. Check out the places to head to, this summer for Leopard sighting in India.

During our last visit to Mysore, we stayed overnight at Ibis Styles Mysuru and were impressed by the elegant comfort that the hotel offered. We have always thought that the Ibis hotels are no-frills business hotels, but Ibis Styles Mysuru busted our myth. It is a hotel that pulls all the stops to provide a premium luxury experience for its guests.
