If you are wondering why we are starting our newsletter with this epic shloka from the Bhagavad Gita, it is because we had the privilege to visit Jyotisar in Kurukshetra earlier this month. Jyotisar has been identified as the place where the knowledge of the Bhagavad Gita was given to Arjun by Shri Krishna, by none other than Adi Shankaracharya. We visited Kurukshetra, to cover the 2nd Mahabharat Circuit Conference organized by the Ministry of Tourism’s Northern Regional Office.

India celebrates World Heritage Week from November -19 to November – 25, a reminder of the need to conserve our priceless heritage, both tangible and intangible. It is also imperative that our heritage lives on in the hearts and minds of younger generations and the generations to come. It is our responsibility to ensure that interest and subsequently a passion for heritage is ignited in school and college-going children. Do let us know your thoughts on this.

Talking about heritage and traditions, Bengaluru is a city that despite its cosmopolitan image stays connected to its roots. An excellent example of this is the Kadlekayi Parishe or Groundnut Fair that happens in the Basavanagudi area of the city. Check out our video about this unique 500-year-old traditional fair under the video section in this newsletter below.
