MPT Gateway Retreat – Sanchi Hotel
Our 7 Day Madhya Pradesh itinerary to explore its heritage took us from Bhopal to Sanchi in the first leg. We left Bhopal behind after exploring some of its treasures including the Taj-ul-Masajid, Bhimbetka, and the Bhojpur temple. We reached Sanchi, after about a 90 minutes drive, and checked into the MPT Gateway Retreat, Sanchi, The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Sanchi hotel, just in time for lunch.
Our Stay At The MPT Gateway Retreat | MP Tourism Hotel In Sanchi
We stayed overnight at the MPT Gateway Retreat, the MP tourism hotel in Sanchi. We spent most of our time outdoors in Sanchi, visiting the Sanchi Stupa and the Udayagiri caves. We left Sanch the next day after breakfast for our next amazing destination of Madhya Pradesh. the hidden gem, known as Chanderi. Location of MPT Gateway Retreat | Sanchi Hotel | Best Hotel In Sanchi
The hotel is located right on the highway that connects Sanchi with Bhopal. The famous Sanchi Stupa is only about 2 kilometres from the hotel. The Udayagiri Caves are at a distance of about 10 kilometres from MPT Gateway Retreat. The hotel has a spacious campus and is in tune with nature.
Accommodation At MPT Gateway Retreat | Madhya Pradesh Tourism Sanch Hotel
The accommodation at the hotel consists of independent cottages. These are clean and nicely furnished, but without frills, but are comfortable. There is a sit out in front of the cottages, and the cottages themselves are set in the midst of a well laid out and well-maintained garden.
The rooms have all the required basic amenities including comfortable beds, an attached bathroom with toiletries, television, and air-conditioning.
Ambience Of MPT Gateway Retreat
The best part of the hotel is that it has this open-to-nature ambience. There is no feeling of claustrophobia, there is plenty of open space with fresh air and natural lighting, which lends it a very earthy and homely ambience. The rooms too are designed with simplicity and elegance.
MPT Gateway Retreat Restaurant | Dining Options
The MPT Gateway Retreat serves a sumptuous buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We found the food really tasty. We especially liked the local cuisine. The hotel serves Indian and continental fare. The best part of eating at the MPT Gateway Retreat is you can eat in the open-air restaurant, enjoying the fresh breeze.
Other Facilities At MPT Gateway Retreat, Sanchi, India
When in Sanchi, most people would spend their time exploring its heritage and the renowned monument, just like we did. But in case you have some time and want to relax, the MPT Gateway Retreat has a Health Club. There is a swimming pool, Sauna, Jacuzzi, apart from a Gym. There is also an outdoor children’s play area. We did not avail of any of these facilities.

Our Thoughts About MPT Gateway Retreat, Sanchi, India
We found the hotel clean and well maintained. Though the hotel may not have the frills of a big star hotel, it is comfortable and very spacious. The food is also good, and the staff too is helpful. In fact, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotels of Madhya Pradesh Tourism. During our Madhya Pradesh sojourn, we also visited two other MPT hotels, namely the Kutni Island Resort in Khajuraho, and the MPT Kila Kothi in Chanderi.
