Karnataka International Travel Expo 2019 – KITE
The first-ever Karnataka International Travel Expo was inaugurated on the 26th of August, 2019 by the Honourable Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri BS Yediyurappa. The Chief Minister outlined the new thrust of the Government of Tourism in Karnataka. He also announced the formation of a Vision Group for tourism in the state of Karnataka.
The Vision Group would work under the Chairpersonship of Smt. Sudha Murthy who is the Chairperson of the Infosys foundation. This is indeed a welcome step and is sure to augur well for tourism in the state of Karnataka.
The Chief Minister also informed that tourism accounted for 14.8% of Karnataka’s GDP and the thrust would be to increase this to 20%. He also mentioned that the state had identified 41 destinations for priority development and promotion. The state would be focusing on a multi-pronged approach for the development of tourism and would include the development of infrastructure, skill development, as well as creating better tourist facilities at destinations as well as highways.
The Chief Minister said that the Government was committed to promoting sustainable tourism in the state and making Karnataka one of the sought after destinations in the world.
Shri Yedigurappa also spoke about the tremendous tourist potential that the state of Karnataka had. This included the 320-kilometer long coastline, the heritage sites of Hampi and Pattadakal, the Western Ghats, as well as the rich culture and heritage of the state.
Three-day tourism expo, KITE held in Bengaluru from August 25th to 27th August
The Karnataka International Travel Expo 2019 is being held at Hotel Lalit Ashok, Bengaluru from the 26th to 28th of August.
The event is a great forum that presents the magnificent state of Karnataka and its incredible wonders to the world. It is an excellent B2B platform for interaction of national and international buyers with the sellers from Karnataka as well as other parts of India. The three-day event brings together over 400 hosted buyers from across more than 25 countries including US, Canada, UK, Germany, Malaysia, Australia, France, Japan, Russia, China, UAE, and Singapore, with more than 10,000 pre-matched appointments.
The KITE 2019 features over 100 exhibitors who represent the best of Karnataka in terms of destinations, hotels and resorts, and other allied products and services.
The KITE 2019 not only provides a forum for B2B interaction but also treats the Buyers and invited hosted media, both national and international to some tantalizing glimpses of Karnataka through Pre and Post KITE Fam Tours. The natural wonders of the state like Coorg, Chikmagalur, the wildlife in Bandipur, the royal heritage of Mysore, the wonders of Belur & Halebid, Hampi, and Pattadakal, are sure to appeal to the participants who will surely take back a little of Karnataka in their hearts.
