Taj Lakefront Bhopal – A Review
Madhya Pradesh remains one of our favourite states in India. It is a travellers paradise and a treasure trove of heritage places, natural attractions, temples and mosques, as well as a rich culture. Hence we have travelled to the state and of course Bhopal many times and have stayed in most if not all of the luxury hotels of Bhopal. Read on to know about our experience at the Taj Lakefront Bhopal.
Experiencing Taj Lakefront Bhopal
We were at the Taj Lakefront Bhopal from where our heritage trail with Times Passion Trails was to begin. Upon arrival at the hotel, its scenic location immediately appealed to us.
The lobby with its ornate decor that incorporated futuristic design with the traditional arts and crafts of the region grabbed our attention. We were shown to our room, which was a deluxe room with a King bed that looked over distant hills and small lakes.
A personalized welcome letter from the General Manager of the hotel, along with a beautifully crafted edible welcome platter, that incorporated the tribal theme. Every part of the welcome platter tasted as good to eat as it looked. It was so beautifully crafted, that we wanted to have it and also keep it!
The room of course was elegant to the core with a soothing decor which along with the view from the window instilled a sense of calm. It set the tone for our experience of the hospitality of the Taj Lakefront Bhopal.
Accommodation At The Taj Lakefront Bhopal
The Taj Lakefront hotel stands right opposite the Upper Lake of Bhopal and hence the name. It offers luxury accommodation with state-of-the-art facilities. It has on offer 142 elegant rooms plush with luxurious amenities and 10 suites.
We stayed in the Luxury Room with a King Bed. It was a wonderful experience waking up high above the Upper Lake with spectacular views of the Vindhyas in the distance. The room was quite spacious with pleasing decor. It had all the amenities and convenience that one would expect of a hotel belonging to the Taj Group. From a 49-inch smart LED Television to WiFi and central air conditioning, the room had everything that one could ask for. here are the details of the room amenities.

During our stay, we had a buffet lunch at the Machan and enjoyed delectable food along with breathtaking views of the Upper Lake. The Machan Restaurant is a multicuisine restaurant and put up an impressive array of delicious dishes including an amazing range of assorted desserts.
House of Ming – Chinese Restaurant At Taj Lakefront Bhopal
The House of Ming is a restaurant that caters to those who have a passion for Chinese cuisine. Meticulously designed to create the colourful vibes of Chinese culture the restaurant serves exotic dishes from both Cantonese and Sichuan cuisines.
Infinity – Lounge Bar At The Taj Lakefront Bhopal
Infinity is a lounge and Bar on the fringe of the pool on the 10th floor. It serves Mediterranean cuisine along with an array of drinks to choose from. It is a great place to chill by the poolside with spectacular views of the Bhopal skyline and the Upper lake.
Emperor Lounge – Taj Lakefront Hotel Bhopal
A place to relax with a delicious bite or two washed down with a steaming hot brew is the Emperor Lounge. The elegant lounge is a patisserie that serves delicious bakes and exotic fine brews including tisanes.

The Taj Lakefront is plush with amenities. Unfortunately, we did not get to use all of them as our stay was shot. However, we list out the different amenities that you can avail of during your stay at the Taj Lakefront.

There is a beautiful infinity pool perched high up on the 10th floor. The pool looks out the Upper Lake of Bhopal and is a great place to chill out in.
Fitness Centre At Taj Lakefront Bhopal
If you are conscious about your fitness and want to adhere to your fitness regimen even while travelling, the Fitness Centre at the Taj is just for you. It is well-equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and also has trainers to assist and guide. There is also a dedicated space for Yoga.
Meetings And Events Venue
The Taj Lakefront Bhopal is also an ideal venue if you are looking to host a gathering, be it a board meeting, a wedding reception, a birthday party, or a corporate event. It has many halls and rooms as well as sprawling lawns that are perfect for outdoor events.
Raj Mahal
The Raj Mahal is a regal and massive ballroom with ornate embellishments that has a capacity of 1500. Ornate chandeliers and elaborate interiors contribute to the grandeur of the hall.
Tapti
The Tapti which is an elegant meeting room is ideal for closed meetings and has a capacity of 18. The room is equipped with the best amenities.
Narmada
The Narmada is another compact room ideal for business and team meetings. It has a capacity of 40 and is a perfect setting for conferences and seminars.
Sheesh Mahal
The Sheesh Mahal, as the name suggests is an exquisite hall decorated with chandeliers that seem to cover the entire roof. The hall is reminiscent of the grandeur of the royal era of Bhopal. The hall has a capacity of 100 and is ideal for celebrations.
Vindhya
The Vindhya with its expansive and lush lawns is ideal for outdoor events including wedding receptions. The capacity here is 1500.
Satpura
The spacious terrace with spectacular views of the mountains and forests is a perfect backdrop for evening events., under the stars. The Satpura has a capacity of 150.
