We loved our time in Tawang, where we stayed at the lovely Pal_mo Homestay Tawang. Pal_mo Homestay Tawang – A Home Away From Home
Tawang is one of the best-known places in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, in the North Eastern region of India. It is famous for the Tawang Galdan Namgye Lhatse or Tawang Monastery. This was where the Dalai Lama stayed for some time after he entered India in 1959. Tawang is also the gateway to high-altitude passes and lakes including the Bum La Pass and the Madhuri Lake or Sungester Lake.
We spent 3 nights in Tawang and had a wonderful stay at our home Stay in Tawang, the Pal_mo Homestay.
Pal_mo Homestay Tawang | Palmo Homestay Location
The Pal_mo Homestay Tawang is located within walking distance of the famous Tawang Monastery. You can get around conveniently if Tawang tourism is your reason for visiting this quaint and historical town of Arunachal Pradesh.
Pal_mo Homestay is located on an elevation and the room windows open to spectacular views. This includes the serene statue of a sitting Buddha, with clouds surrounding him as he gazes impassively at the town stretching out in front of him.
About Palmo Homestay Tawang India
The Pal_mo homestay Tawang is one that is managed by its owner Nima Dolma with a small team of smiling members who are always eager to help. She has started the homestay in 2020, and in her own words the Pal_mo homestay is a family venture, and staying there you will never feel that you have left your home behind.
This was so true as we felt at home, every moment that we stayed there, and feel that is definitely one of the best places to stay in Tawang. In fact, this Tawang homestay entirely changed our perspective of homestays.
The Accommodation At Pal_mo Homestay Tawang
We fell in love at the first sight with our room at Palmo Home Stay. The room was large and spacious, immaculately spick and span. A large double bed stood in the centre, furnished with cosy mattresses, quilts, and pillows.
There were side tables with shelves on both sides of the bed. A small and comfortable Divan stood beside the bed. The windows opened to a mesmerizing view of Tawang town stretching below with the far hills specked with white clouds.
The bathroom was spacious and clean, with a shower and geyser that provided hot and cold water 24/7. An electric kettle to make hot water was also provided. Clean towels and soap bars were also provided.
Food At Pal_mo Homestay Tawang
Food is cooked in a clean and spacious kitchen cum dining room of the Pal_mo Homestay. Nima Dolma presides over the kitchen and directs her staff who prepare mouth-watering local delicacies apart from other Indian pan-Indian dishes for their guests.
The kitchen also happens to be a hub for socializing over the traditional Bukhari or room heater. It is a nice place to huddle together with either the local butter tea, or Lal Chai, and have a conversation. You can choose to have your morning tea or hot steaming cups of strong coffee delivered to your room or walk into the kitchen and warm yourself with the Bukhari as you sip your morning cuppa.
During our stay, we enjoyed local delicacies like Baale Roti, and Ting Mo, continental food like Bread toast, and Indian fare like Poori Sabzi.
It was in the kitchen that we interacted with the hostess and her team as well as guests of the house and not to forget Nima’s sweet little daughter, Palmo, after whom the homestay has been named.
Final Thoughts About Pal_mo Homestay Tawang
Though we have left the lovely Tawang Home Stay, far behind and are back home, we still carry the memories of the place close to our hearts.
The sincere warmth and hospitality of our hostess and her team have left an indelible mark on our minds, and this combined with the facilities they offer make this Tawang homestay, the best homestay in Tawang. If we visit Tawang again, we can unequivocally say, that we would love to stay again at the Pal_mo Homestay.
