Gokarna White Pearl Cruise – A Unique Experience In Karnataka

Arriving at the Tadadi port located in the Kumta Taluk of Uttara Kannada district, some 6 kilometres from Gokarna, we lined up expectantly at the jetty where the White Pearl lay moored. The strains of a popular Bollywood number wafted across from the deck. The yacht true to its name was painted in pearl white and shone brilliantly against the blue-tinged waters.

The Captain welcomed us abroad the White Pearl as we crossed the jetty to enter the yacht. We immediately proceeded towards the upper deck where the crew welcomed us with a cool and refreshing drink.

Soon the yacht set sail and we were off, gliding in the waters of the Aghanashini river. The river is unique and considered to be one of the few virgin rivers in the world. It is believed that the river flows unhindered by the invasion of industries of embankments and dams from its source on a 124-kilometre journey to join the Arabian Sea.

We soon left the estuary where the Aghanashini river merges with the Arabian Sea behind and was cruising in the sea. We passed the gorgeous beaches of Gokarna including Paradise Beach and Om Beach. Feeling the sea breeze on your face as you indulged in the snacks being served by the crew while feasting your eyes on the lovely views all around was an incredible experience.

As the sun slid downwards on its trajectory on the western horizon, the blue waters of the Arabian Sea turned golden, it was an amazing sight.

The evening had heralded its arrival with regal splendour, it was a moment of pure magic. But who can stop the sun? It sank into the waters of the Arabian Sea and darkness fell. It was time to head back again towards the Aghanashini river for a quiet dinner on board. The gently meandering river Aghanashini cradled the yacht like a mother holding her baby, as we feasted on the tasty dinner that the crew spread out before us.

The yacht soon glided towards the jetty at the Tadadi Port, and the magic spell was over. A wonderful experience onboard the White Pearl Cruise had now transformed into memories to be cherished for a lifetime.
