41st IATO Convention

The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) is all set to host its much-anticipated 41st IATO Convention from 10th to 13th September 2026 in the picturesque coastal city of Visakhapatnam—fondly known as the City of Destiny and the Jewel of the East Coast. With its blend of scenic beaches, cultural richness, and growing infrastructure, Visakhapatnam provides the perfect backdrop for one of the most significant gatherings in India’s tourism industry.

Visakhapatnam to Host 41st IATO Convention

This flagship event is being organized with the wholehearted support of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Key leaders including Shri Kandula Durgesh, Minister of Tourism, Culture & Cinematography; Mr. Ajay Jain, Special Chief Secretary (Tourism & Culture); and Ms. Amrapali Kata, CEO of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority, have extended their full cooperation to ensure the convention is executed on a grand and memorable scale.

Speaking about the upcoming event, Ravi Gosain, President of IATO, emphasized that the theme and key highlights of the convention are being thoughtfully designed to address both the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of tourism. The focus will be on meaningful dialogue, forward-looking strategies, and actionable insights that can help strengthen India’s position in the global tourism landscape.

The iconic Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach has been chosen as the official venue for the convention. Over the course of four days, it will host all major activities including delegate registrations, the inaugural ceremony, business sessions, and a series of engaging evening programs. The inaugural session on 10th September 2026 is expected to be graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the Union Minister of Tourism, Government of India. In addition, senior officials from the Ministry of Tourism and representatives from approximately 17–18 State Tourism Departments are expected to participate, adding significant weight and diversity to the discussions.

Highlighting the scale and ambition of the event, Sanjay Razdan, Vice President of IATO, shared that the association is aiming to attract between 900 and 1000 delegates from across the country. This strong participation reflects the growing importance of the convention as a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and business development. To further enhance the experience, specially curated post-convention tours will be organized, giving delegates an opportunity to explore the diverse tourism offerings of Andhra Pradesh.

These immersive experiences are expected to help stakeholders promote the state more effectively in both domestic and international markets. The convention will feature a series of high-powered business sessions spread over three days. These sessions will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and domain experts to deliberate on key issues impacting tourism today—from sustainability and digital transformation to emerging travel trends and market expansion strategies. The aim is to foster collaboration and generate ideas that can drive the industry forward in a rapidly evolving global environment.

41st IATO Convention – Where India’s Tourism Industry Will Come Together

Beyond business, the convention promises to be a vibrant and engaging experience. A range of activities has been planned to encourage participation and celebrate the spirit of tourism. These include the “IATO Run for Responsible Tourism,” which underscores the importance of sustainable practices, as well as recognition awards across multiple categories to honour excellence within the industry. Adding a touch of fun and creativity, the event will also feature lively evening entertainment programs and the much-awaited “IATO’s Got Talent – Karaoke Singing Competition,” ensuring that delegates have ample opportunities to relax and connect.

One of the major highlights of the convention will be the Indian Tourism Fair (Travel Mart), scheduled for 11th and 12th September 2026 at the venue. This dynamic platform will facilitate meaningful interactions between IATO members, State Tourism Boards, and other key stakeholders. By enabling direct engagement and collaboration, the Travel Mart is expected to play a crucial role in building partnerships and driving tourism growth across the country.

With its strategic focus, strong industry participation, and the rich cultural and scenic charm of Visakhapatnam as its backdrop, the 41st IATO Annual Convention is poised to be a landmark event. It not only promises valuable insights and business opportunities but also reinforces India’s growing stature as a leading global tourism destination.
