Children of Arunachal Pradesh
Travel is a many splendoured flower. It is like a colorful mosaic of experiences that leave you awe-struck and asking for more. Beautiful and pristine destinations are of course like chicken-soup for the soul. They leave you feeling blessed and thankful.
We recently visited the North-East Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. A state that simply floored us with its enchanting natural beauty. Adding luster to its immense beauty was the hospitable nature of its people who lived in seamless harmony with nature. Like always the children of Arunachal Pradesh grabbed our attention. The innocence of the children mirrors the pristine beauty of the state of Arunachal Pradesh.
Here are a few vignettes that capture the mood of these sweet angels of Arunachal Pradesh.
“Happy Birthday to you“, sang these two little lovelies as we entered the grounds where the festival Adventure@Mechuka was being held. A hot-air balloon on the ground was the cue that prompted these kids to break into the Happy Birthday song!

The lady with the kids, we met at the homestay we were staying in at Mechuka. The two kids actually had a fever and yet they were little bundles of energy.
Another shot of our Happy Birthday girls at Mechuka.
When we stopped for some black tea and noodles at a wayside eatery on the road to Basar from Mechuka, this little one grabbed our attention.
This group of kids were happy to pose for the camera and were delighted when we showed them the picture on our camera.

Nothing can be more therapeutic than looking at the innocent smile of a baby.

These are not ordinary kids. They are heroes who are helping save our planet from the dreaded menace of plastic. We found this child brigade at Gori-I village scourging the streets for plastic and collecting them for proper disposal. Don’t we need more of them in the world?
This toddler seems to speak with his eyes. He hypnotized us with his eyes at the hotel we stayed in for a day at Basar, Arunachal Pradesh.
