Ranakpur Hill Resort, Ranakpur, Rajasthan – Hotel Review

We were on a road trip across Rajasthan in India to explore some new places. The trip started in Jaipur and ended at Udaipur. In between, we visited Ranthambore, Chittorgarh, Kumbhalgarh, Nathdwara, and Ranakpur. During our travels, we are very particular about the hotels we stay and ensure that if not ultra-luxurious, at least they are clean and decent. While planning our travels we spend a lot of time in finalizing our hotels. We shall be reviewing the different hotels that we stayed in during this trip on our travel blog, and hope that the reviews will serve as a guide to those planning a trip to these places. The hotel that we shall be reviewing in this post is the Ranakpur Hill Resort in Ranakpur, Rajasthan.

Ranakpur Hill Resort, Ranakpur, Rajasthan, India – Hotel Review

Ranakpur is a small town in Rajasthan known for the famous Ranakpur Jain Temples. Though it is possible to do a day trip from Udaipur, we decided to do a night hold that would enable us to explore the place slowly. We chose the Ranakpur Hill Resort for our stay and have no regrets about our choice.

Location of Ranakpur Hill Resort

The hotel is conveniently located on the main road that leads to Udaipur. It is just 3 kilometers from the Ranakpur Jain Temples as well as the Ranakpur Sun Temple. Being on the main road it is very easy to locate.

• The nearest airport is the Maharana Pratap Airport at Udaipur at a distance of about 109 kilometers
• The nearest railway station is Falna at a distance of about 35 kilometers

Accommodation At Ranakpur Hill Resort

The Ranakpur Hill Resort has Super Deluxe rooms and Suites with single and double occupancy. The rooms are designed artistically and reflect the art and architecture of Rajasthan. The rooms have multi-colored stain glass windows and doors painted with beautiful murals. The beds were comfortable and the rooms spacious. There was air-conditioning and a television set in the room, though we did find the television a bit small. We also felt the absence of a tea/coffee maker. But barring that the room was decent and clean, they had provided extra blankets to keep away the chill.

One of the best features of the room that we loved was the sit-in windows where one could actually snooze, soaking in the sunlight filtering through the stained glass windows.

The Grounds

There stood a nice and inviting pool in the middle of the grounds. There was a nice lawn where one could relax, surrounded by the row of suites designed with beautiful arches and facades and painted with lovely murals.

However as the weather was chilly and because we did not have time, we did not make use of the pool facilities, though we would have loved to.

Restaurant & Food

We had two meals at the restaurant namely dinner and breakfast. The food was tasty and incorporated the local cuisines well. The ambiance of the restaurant too was in keeping with the overall theme of the hotel and had an aura of heritage around it.

Other Facilities & Service

We did not make use of any facilities because of the shortage of time. The modest reception desk did inform that they can organize horse safaris through the nearby Aravalli ranges. The other services they offer include Car Rentals, Laundry, and cultural programs on request.

In terms of service, we found the staff helpful and good though we must admit we did not actually need or use much of it.

Overall Ambience     4.5/5 for the lovely traditional decor that reminds one of the Rajput era.
