The museum which is spread over an area of 50,000 square feet includes an exhibits gallery, conference rooms, and theatres for performances.

The exhibits in the museum include a stunning Instruments gallery that has a collection of more than 100 rare musical instruments. Complete information about the origin and history of these instruments is provided. Some of the notable exhibits here include a peacock-shaped Veena known as Mayura Veena.
The “Living Traditions” section tells visitors all that they want to know about classical music and its basics. Here, one learns about Sruti, Raga, Khayal, Dhrupad, etc, in a very innovative and engaging manner.
The “Stars” section features more than 100 shining stars of Indian music. The likes of Bismillah Khan, Bhimsen Joshi, and M.S. Subbalakshmi along with greats like R.D.Burman and others are part of this “Hall of Fame”.
One of the highlights of the Indian Music Experience Museum has to be the Sound Garden. Visitors can go on an interactive musical odyssey here amongst the different installations. There is the Singing stone that produces vibrations when rubbed with wet hands. The Humming Stone invites you to hum into it and adjust the resonance of your voice. Then again, there is the Sound Railing, which produces a beautiful tune as you run your hand through the railings. These and many more installations make the Sound Garden an unforgettable musical experience.
