One of these was Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, commonly referred to as HAL. The company is well known for its various products for the Indian Air Force and defence services.
The HAL Museum is an unmissable place, especially for those interested in aviation and the history of aviation in India. Visitors are treated to the exciting sight of aircraft on open display on the grounds. There is a MIG-21, a Kiran which is an aircraft used for training by the Indian Air Force, and many other legendary aircraft. One can also spot the Ajeet which was used as a fighter plane and Lakshya which is a pilotless aircraft.
The indoor museum is made up of two galleries. The first gallery documents the growth of the aviation industry in India starting from 1940 when the company was incorporated. The fascinating history of aviation in India is showcased through photographs and exhibits.
