Travel With Flint And Say Goodbye To Lint + Giveaways

What is Lint

Lint is an accumulation of textile fibers and other material on and around clothing. Along with these clothing fibers, human and animal hair along with pollen, skin cells and microorganisms also make their home on clothes.

Why is Lint undesirable and needs to be removed

  • Lint which sticks to your clothes, easily escape into the atmosphere and can be inhaled by anyone in the surroundings leading to health problems and diseases of the lung. The lint thus inhaled may also carry dangerous viruses and bacteria
  • Lint on your clothes can actually create serious damage to delicate mechanical devices, and hence the use of anti-static overcoats in such sensitive manufacturing areas
  • Lint presents an ugly sight on dresses and can result in fashion disasters. Cosmetically the presence of Lint on your dress sends out signals of bad grooming and is not desirable at all
  • The presence of Lint on some clothing may actually be harmful to the clothing itself and damage it
  • Lint can be extremely inconvenient and embarrassing to people on the go, who want to go up on the stage for a presentation and be embarrassed by a lump of lint on the blazer

How to remove Lint

Now that there is a just case about the undesirability of Lint, the question that arises is, how can Lint be removed?

There are many ways that are prevalent for the removal of Lint. These include using a brush, washing the affected clothes in clear water without using detergents, using a lint roller, using a pumice stone, etc..

Flint Arrives

As an answer to all the questions posed by the vagaries of Lint, a new stylized lint roller named Flint has been launched. The aesthetically designed rollers which are slim, stylish and elegant can quietly fit into small handbags. They look like lipstick tubes and come in different color shades to match with other fashion accessories.

Flint combines the utility of a household lint roller with the convenience of a travel lint roller. In fact, Flint is an ideal travel companion as it is much smaller than the average travel lint roller but packs in much more power.

No wonder Flint has won the Conde Nast Travel Essential award. Flint has also won the Red Dot International Design Concept Award as well as the Good Design award from The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design. Flint has also featured in the Oprah magazine.

The Flint Experience

We were privileged to have a firsthand Flint experience. At the outset, we were impressed by the aesthetically designed rollers. Then the simplicity of operation bowled us over. With just a small twist of the bottom cap of the container, the roller extends out to twice its length and can be closed with a gentle tap on the top. There is a small protective sheet on the roller, which we removed and ran the roller over blazers, jackets, bedspreads, curtains and even on the surface of a table. We were amazed at the amount of lint that stuck to the roller. Apparently, Flint can be used on everything and anything!

Flint is indeed a retractable and refillable lint roller. It is easy to change the roller without having to buy a new Flint device. To change refills, just pull off the refill and then pop on the next one. It is that easy! Each refill comes with 30 reusable sheets. High-quality Japanese paper has been used. Flint lint paper is protected for reuse, and the Flint core is 100% recycled. Flint lint roller is retractable, reusable, refillable and recyclable.

As we are constantly on the move, Flint has now become a part of our travel essential too. Flint Lint Roller is a compact travel accessory. It is retractable and refillable. It removes lint, dust and pet hair from clothing and other surfaces. Even pet owners will love this.

Damn, I’m so sad, I read everything, got real excited to own one of them colorful flints and then the giveaway is only for US residents?! Why oh why?!!!! Huhuhu… This would have been useful to me.

Wow, I didn’t know that such a product exists at all. I am often too bugged by the dog hair. In fact I am trying hard to remove them from one of my shirt. I would definitely want to try this as post my travels.

  6. Megan Indoe Reply

Wow, that’s great how small and compact that lint roller is. I love that it comes in a variety of colors too. If Oprah likes it I bet half of the US owns these lint rollers by now! This is a really great travel accessory!

  7. Swat Reply

I really liked the product – compatible and looks great too. I always struggle, especially with my black dresses or coats. This is perfect to carry on handbag

  8. Candy Reply

Why have I never heard of this? I wear a ton of black clothes and am always looking for a lint roller. I just bought 5 huge roles of linter roller and now I want to get this little one for my travels. I love the sleek design too 🙂

Great for traveling and keeping your clothes looking smart! When I started reading about lint I was reminded of the lint screen in the dryer…I empty it out in the green space behind our house for the birds. They love to use it for nests! Great product for traveling!

  11. neha Reply

I didn’t know about a Lint. But this looks like such an easy and compact travel companion. And serves a good purpose. I also like the small size and the color options in which it is available – quiet cute 🙂

Ooh I love this! I’ve never heard of these lint rollers but I have three cats and a dog back home, so even if I’ve been travelling for a year I find their hairs on all of my clothes!

  14. Kristie Reply

What a great idea! Love the pic with your camera and passport + your Flint! Love the size and bright colours also. Great how easy it is to replace the refills! Thanks for sharing!

I haven’t known any of those things about lint. It sounds like a very good item to have when traveling. I am always looking for a lint roller as small as these ones. I like the sleek design, too.

  16. The Travel Ninjas Reply

It’s cool that Flint has won so many great awards. I do a lot of business travel too. It’s seems especially useful for keeping business attire looking sharp.

  17. Jesper, The Biveros Effect Reply

We have never even considered this when traveling. Well, not even when at home. So it sounds like a smart gadget, but I would probably first need to see the problem before finding the solution. 🙂

  18. Sarah Kim Reply

I love that the Flint cover retracts so the rolling part doesn’t get stuff all over it! I also love how small it is; comparable to a lipstick case almost! Good to know products like this exist.

  19. Patricia Reply

This seems super useful not only for when we travel, but for work things. While we don’t have pets, I always seem to have lint — and it always seems to be white lint when I’m wearing dark shirts or blazers! I love how small the Flint Lint Roller is and that with 30 sheets it seems like it would last a while. Very cool find!

  20. Tatum Skipper Reply

OMG those are the cutest thing ever! Super compact and easy to use. I want to buy one just because of how freakin adorable they are! Perfect for travel!

  21. Claire Summers Reply

This is so cool! I can’t believe how small it it. So handy to know this exists! I’m backpacking at the moment so lint is the least of my worries (I look like a total scruff all the time!). I’m totally going to get one for my vacation to Hawaii though!

  22. Melissa Reply

Love how colorful this is! It would have a chance of not getting lost in my bag 🙂 Seems like a really useful travel product though.

  23. Anne Reply

I love this. It looks funky and would be perfect for work. I hate it when I end up with bits on my clothes.

  24. Shane Reply

This would’ve come in handy for my Euro trip when I had limited resources for cleaning and laundry!

  25. Tracie Howe Reply

Thanks for sharing! I hate those big tape rollers, so it’s nice to find that there’s something else available. Bonus that they are travel sized!

  26. Ivy Reply

Oh these are the cutest! I love how colourful and compact they are as opposed to the giant rollers we have at home. Thanks for sharing!

  27. Brianna Reply

I can’t say that I’ve ever had lint issues while traveling. But this would be a great thing for business travelers! Or perhaps if you’re going to a blogging conference.

  28. Stephanie Reply

This is definitely a cool product. I love the case because the stickiness of lint rollers was always a problem in the past. I also didn’t realize how dangerous lint was. Now I am going to be on a mission against it!!!

  29. Gina Reply

The one fact that blew my mind about lint was that these fibers can cause people illness because they get carried around in so many places and can easily infect people. I like how small the Flint roller is because I can keep it in a bag and keep myself safe from infections.

  30. Cori Reply

I never thought I’d describe a lint roller as ‘cute’, but this one is. It makes me think of all the fantastically designed items I find myself buying whenever I’m in Scandinavia. I don’t know if I’d need this when traveling, but I think I need it when I’m at home and find cat hair on everything, no matter what I do!

  31. FS page Reply

I never knew what Lint is and i certainly didnt know there were awards for something like essential travel gear. I need to google it up and know more about it. Thanks for detailed blog

  32. Luca Reply

Well, another episode of the “This is the useless product you were waiting for” (as seen on TV)! I really don’t like this way of the industry transforming every object in something stylish so you can brag with people. Just because it’s a design product now it’s cool, when it’s just a lint roller.
Let’s wait for the next carbon fiber, foldable, Oprah endorsed toilet brush, so we’ll see everybody’s bag have one.

  33. [email protected] Reply

I sometimes avoid bringing certain pieces of clothing because they tend to attract a lot of lint but the Flint roller looks very practical in size and it’s so cute!

  34. Stella the Travelerette Reply

I do love that stylish design! I especially would like the powder blue one. I don’t seem to have much lint problems with the clothes I wear when traveling, but I definitely do with my winter coat and my blanket. So I would want one of these to have at home!

  35. Bethanny Sudibyo Reply

Wow! This sounds like a really cool product. I love compact items that can easily come along with my travels. Will look into the rules and I’ll definitely give it a go for the giveaway.

  36. Ami Bhat Reply

Good you shared the harmful effects of lint. Not many know why this is harmful and needs to be removed. Thanks for sharing the same.

  37. John Rodgers Reply

I love these, it is really hard to be on trains, planes, and buses all the time and not come out looking like you have been rolling in the aisle. I am getting two of these for my wife today and I am sure she will love them. Thanks for posting this, these helpful topics instead of top 10 of this and that are really getting old for me.

  38. Angie (FeetDoTravel) Reply

We carry a small lint remover with us but it’s not as bright and colourful as this one! Shame we don’t live in the US, I would have loved to have entered your giveaway 😀 #feetdotravel

  39. Soumya Nambiar Reply

I love the design of the Flint rollers and there are so many colours to choose from. So stylish and classy. It can also be packed almost anywhere because of the size. Looks effective too. Too bad that I am not a resident of USA to participate in the giveaway.

  42. melbtravel Reply

I just love new travel products and to be honest I never heard of flint but it sounds like a great idea. To bad your give away is not available to UK residents

  43. Indrani Reply

Flint seems to be the perfect solution to harmful lint. Very innovative idea and deserves the recognition it got.

  44. Jenna Reply

This looks like a really cool product. I hate lint, but traditional rollers always larger and get stuck on everything so I never end up packing them. I’m definitely going to have to get one of these!

  45. Laura Lynch Reply

I can’t even tell you how many times we could have used this on our 2-month trip. We didn’t want to waste the space to pack one of the old style big rollers, but this would have fit in so easily and it comes in handy more often than you’d think.

  46. Snigdha Reply

This is such an unusual travel read. Haven’t heard about this before. But seems to be quite useful and necessary. Thanks for sharing the details.
