We were on a road trip from Bangalore to the famed Belur and Halebeedu temples near Hassan and were scouting for a good restaurant to stop for breakfast on the way, as we had left home quite early. We had a few options, but our driver suggested Kicchana Halli Mane Hassan.

We looked at Kicchana Halli Mane Reviews online; some were not quite encouraging. Some mentioned that the place did not offer value for money. However, we trusted our gut feeling and the driver’s recommendation and stopped at Kicchana Halli Mane for breakfast. Read on to learn more about our experience at the Kicchana Halli Mane restaurant. Incidentally, the Kicchana Halli Mane hotel owner is supposed to be Kannada Superstar, Kiccha Sudeep.

Kicchana Halli Mane Hotel – The Ambience

We were pleasantly surprised with the design of Kicchana Halli Mane. Its design is inspired by homes in traditional villages of Karnataka of yore. Wooden pillars, a small pond in the centre inspired by the central courtyard of the village mansion, with tables arranged around it, give it a homely and elegant ambience. A few pictures of Kiccha Sudeep hang on the walls, and energetic women flit around the tables taking and serving your orders. We learned that the staff is made up of 80% women.

You can choose from a wide range of dishes at Kicchana Halli Mane including traditional Karnataka breakfast items, chats, coffee, and tea. We opted to have a nice South Indian breakfast to set the tone for our exploration of Karnataka’s heritage.

We liked the combo breakfast or Mini Breakfast that included a mini Masala Dosa, an Idli and Vada, a small cup of Uppma, a small cup of Bisibele Bath, and a small helping of the traditional Karnataka sweet Halbai. All this washed down with filter coffee.

Some from our group ordered Vegetable Pulao and an exotic Pineapple Dosa. We found all the items tasty and loved the flavours and spices which were just right.

We left with a sense of great satisfaction and satiation. The food was very good and when we got the bill, we found the rates reasonable and the food and service good value for the money that we paid. We decided to always stop at the Kicchana Mane Restaurant whenever we were on the Bengaluru-Hassan highway.
